Snowmobiles are the only form of winter transportation - to and from our south western Montana Lodge. Snowmobile in for a winter lodging adventure. Get away from West Yellowstone, Montana's crowds and Island Park, Idaho's busy trails and experience a winter snowmobile adventure in the 'real' Montana.
Winter at our Western Montana Resort is an adventure! Located a few miles off an extensive groomed trail system - 500 miles around Island Park, Idaho and 400 miles around West Yellowstone, Montana - our snowmobilers enjoy thousands of acres of untouched powder. There is no doubt Elk Lake Resort sits in the middle of a unique winter wonderland. But, don't just take our word for it. In the fall of 2006, SnoWest Magazine did a three-part 'in-depth' article on the Island Park area. Elk Lake Resort - and the countryside out our back door - was deemed worthy of mention in two of the three articles. The second article talks about Elk Lake Resort while later articles talk about the surrounding countryside.
