Resort Employment Opportunities At Remote Montana Adventure Lodge

Are you adventure minded? Do you love nature? Does off-the-beaten-path sound like heaven?

2007 Resort Employee CrewAll our positions are filled for 2010. Please check back in January 2011 for openings.

A summer job at a remote resort offers numerous opportunities. Meet new friends. Form lasting friendships. Enjoy the outdoors. Explore nature. This and more await a select few lucky people this summer!

Each year, Elk Lake Resort hires two or more employees to assist us in attending to our guests' needs. Our vacation adventure lodge seeks mature, friendly folks who are willing to work hard and have good communication skills. Considering our remote location, a love for nature and the outdoors is a must!

The best resort employees are outgoing, self-motivated, versatile, and pleasant company. Elk Lake Resort employees must be honest, have a strong team spirit, and possess a friendly and willing attitude.

2006 Resort Employee CrewAdventure vacation lodge employment can be very rewarding. There is a comradery which comes from working toward a common goal. Furthermore, the pure nature surrounding our remote setting naturally encourages guests and staff to slough off stress. In addition, staff and owners typically partake of the evening meal together. This allows everyone time to relax, share, and build friendships.

Our summer season typically runs from Memorial Day through Labor Day. We usually request our employees arrive a few days before Memorial Day to settle in and become acquainted with their job requirements. We ask employees to plan to remain through the middle of September, although, depending on our bookings, we may release one or two employees around Labor Day.

While we seek to limit employee' hours to a maximum of 35 per employee, per week, all resort employees must be flexible. Occasionally a long day may be requested. Once in a while special guest's needs must be addressed. On rare occasions issues arise which require scheduling adjustments.

Elk Lake Resort employee compensation includes a monthly salary, RV hookup, a generous meal allowance, a percentage of the tips received (typically no less than $500 per month), and use of the resort facilities whenever available. Furthermore, for the ‘right' employee(s), we are willing to offer housing - however, our housing options are limited to a maximum of one or two employees.

2008 Resort Employee CrewIn return, resort employees are required to work a 30 - 35 hour week, be available 5 days per week during their scheduled time, and to always put resort guests and their comfort first.

The resort employees we hire must be willing and able to work cross-category. While we assign responsibilities (for example, one employee may be primarily responsible for food preparation and another for housekeeping and laundry), due to a resort's nature, we require every employee to be willing to work wherever they are needed. In addition, because the resort restaurant is labor intensive, all resort employees must expect to spend a certain amount of time working in the kitchen doing clean up or food preparation.

At Elk Lake Resort, we do not believe in hands-off management. Therefore, our resort employees usually find themselves working shoulder-to-shoulder with the owners. Furthermore, as owners, we do not consider any job ‘below us', nor do we feel some jobs are for employees only. As a result, we try to match each employee's skills and talents to the job areas they are best suited. We willingly fill any gaps ourselves.
